A Favorite Scene

Young Frankenstein is one of my all time favorite movies. The first time I saw it was with the gang of girlfriends in high school at the drive-in on West 11th in somebody’s mom’s station wagon. I was horrified when I spilled rootbeer on my brand new dark green wool coat. How do these little episodes make such a big impression?

Watching it the other night, I realized I have the entire script memorized. Probably from the constant geeky quoting of lines with aforementioned girlfriends.

It’s the goofy nuances of physical comedy that really get me, like when the villager bumps into the tree in the dark.
