poetry Night at the Axe & Fiddle

Poetry night at the Axe & Fiddle is always full of surprises.

On this particular night the lineup included poetry from folks new to Eugene, the latest Slam winner, a confession from a painter who revealed he’d learned to paint in prison, excerpts from the New Yorker article about Aprovecho, Sappho and Baudelaire from CG’s Poet Laureate Leo Rivers, spanish poetry in english set to guitar music, a short story, and a dissapointed-in-Obama poem from Maria who drives all the way from Corvallis because of the amazing happy supportive vibe of the event.

All covered by an authentic hippy psychedelic light show from Michael. So glad I went…
