6/7/10 3:04 PM I’m In Love With You, Honey
My grandma Ailie had a housework song. Whenever she was occupied doing some task, she’d sing “I’m in love with you, honey. Say you love me true, honey. No one else will do, honey, it’s true…” Then she’d start over again. And again. Until the job was done. That piece of an old love song was her work mantra.
Mostly I remember her doing it while hanging up the laundry on the line in the yard in the summer on the farm in Idaho.
That’s a big part of why I love to hang the laundry on the line in the yard in the summer. I can’t help but sing that piece of that old sweet song while I do it.
